odbc read only

Hi ALL,

I want to get data directly from the source which is running on pervasive
odbc client interface to feed into my db. I want to ensure that the file will
be a read only file. Do you know how I can do this? Basically i don't want
any information from the DB to enter into the data from the source. So this
should only be a way-one street --- source to database. (if data were to
enter into the source from the db, that would make a lot of ppl mad and i
will get fired.)

Have the admin create read only permissions on the Pervasive database.

The only thing that you can do from Access is import the data into Access so
that you are working with a copy of the data similar to the way an OLAP cube
does using Excel.
