ODBC connection errors

We have a database that produces extracts in a text format. These extracts
are then interrogated by Crystal using an ODBC connection.

When changes take place in the extracts, the system administrator has to use
the ODBC 'guess' to show the fields. Crystal can then interrogate the whole
extract including the amended fields.

The database was recently transferred to VM ware. Since then the 'guess'
procedure has resulted in error and Crystal cannot connect to the extract.

Anyone got a clue?

did you re-create your DSN entry after moving the database ?

No I don't think the System Administrator did. I'll get her to re-try it and
report back

We have deleted and re-created the dsn entry but are still having the faults.

We have now noticed that, when you go to 'guess' an amended extract, if we
first select an unamended extract, then that extract will not work as well as
the amended extract.

However the other 30+ extracts will work.

Confused but battling on

other than checking your query on the non-functional extract ..I'm afraid I
don't have any other good suggestions for you
