Hi I get this error message when trying to link tabes to an interbase database

ODBC--call failed.
[INTERSOLV][ODBC InterBase driver][InterBase]Dynamic SQL error code = -104,
Invalid command, data type unknown (#-104)

any ideas?

Is this something new? That is, was it working before, but not now?

What happens if you drop the linked table, then re-establish the link?

Does this happen for a single table, or for all of the linked tables?

Can you confirm that the Interbase database is up and running? Has all the
tables you're linking to?

This is the first time I have tried to link InterBase to access.
When setting up the link table I get into the InterBase DB it shows me all
the tables they when I select 1 to link I then get the error.

Yes the InterBase database is running on a server (InterBase 7)

I have the InterBase 5 on client PC, I am able to access the InterBase
database and it works in Excel.

Sorry for the delay ... I've been out of town and de-tech'ed.

Perhaps you need to check with the administrator of the InterBase database
to make sure you have permissions...
