What would you aim for with this config?:
XP3200
512 mb crucial x1
A7N8X Deluxe revision2
GeForce 2GTS graphics board
I'm also running a Maxtor 120Gb drive off IDE is there any benefit to
running SATA (if a converter's available). I also run a DVD Drive and CD
Rewriter?

Well if your RAM is good, take your FSB as high as it will go with RAM in
synch and without having to relax CL.

You may have to reduce the multiplier a tad, or you may be able to increase
it, depending on how far you get your FSB and where your CPU is stable. If
temps are good (CPU diode is <60 under load) you can increase voltage to
maintain stablilty.

Not really, except the cabling is nicer, performance-wise I doubt there'll
be any significant difference.

Well if you do stick the HD on the SATA controller, everything can have it's
own channel, which might give you some improvement when copying between
devices that were sharing a channel.

Ive noted in drive thrashing benchmarks, that while performance doesnt
chang much, Sata seems to use much less CPU time than Pata.
