Objects missing in IE 6.x but not in Firefox ... help !

I'm having problems using IE 6.x with www.Investools.com. Most pages
are ok, but some pages, such as Interactive Charting, do not display
correctly. There is a large white rectangle, where the chart should
be. It is a Java object. I have the latest Java runtime.

Toolbox Support suggested trying Mozilla Firefox, which is a different
browser. Sure enough, it fixed it. But, it runs slower and I like IE.

So I need to figure out what is causing the problem in I.E. I have the
IE popup blocker turned off. I seem to have all/most Java settings
enabled in Tools, Internet Options.

Any suggestions?

Thx,

Brooks

Hi Brooks:

Interestingly enough, I am having the same problem with some webpages I have
been creating that have Javascript SwapImage scripts, though mine will often
display a random part of the image, not always dropping the entire image. I
have gotten some advice in this message below, "Partial Image Loading with
Javascript in IE 6", Tuesday, February 21, 2006 9:19 PM, but I still have
not solved the problem. What is frustrating is that the image display
behavior in IE is erratic, some work, some don't, while everything displays
OK in the Mozilla (Netscape & Firefox) browsers. I'll follow your thread too
in the hope some insight may be gained.

Good luck,
James Harris

Robear,

None.

I use Safety.Net for a firewall and AVG for antivirus. Firefox does
not have the Java problem when both are running, so I do not think it
is the firewall or antivirus.

I have popup blocking turned off in IE. I am running the latest IE and
Java runtime.

It seems to be some type of IE/Java issue. James Harris seems to be
having the same problem. I see other similar posts in this 'group'.

Maybe a IE/Java guru will have the answer.
