ObjectDock

Has anyone tried this one?

ObjectDock is a free program that allows you to have a nice animated
launchbar/taskbar on your screen that reacts to your mouse when you mouse
over it. Requirements: Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Program supports
accelerated video cards and includes a software rendering mode to run fast
on older hardware.

I tried an earlier version of it. At that time it used a lot of memory
and I switched back to yzdock.

Aquadock is yzdock. Someone took the code after Apple made the yzdock
creator stop development and repackaged it as aquadock. Inside it's
identical to the last version of yzdock.

I just wanted to add this piece since aquadock is not an update of
yzdock but a duplicate. YZdock was still not fully developed when it
was shut down. Accessories for yzdock are still being created and can
be found at aquasoft.
"aquadock = warez. you should use y'z dock if you have it, or objectdock
or mobydock." from aquasoft

Didn't know that .... I'm not picking an argument, but it seems odd that
MajorGeeks would host warez ?

Either way, I've now got Mobydock installed :)

Unfortunately ObjectDock is bloated. No big reason to use it over the
others. The new plus version looks interesting but it's payware.

Aquadock uses far less memory than YZdock, so it can't be just a duplicate.
You can run multiple copies of it using different directories. It's pretty
good, too, the best of these (except I haven't tried mobydock.)

I couldn't get mobydock to run on my machine. Well, it would load but not
show itself, wonder why. Larger footprint than aquadock.

If graphics aren't important, launchmate is better than all of these, since
it has categories. I kinda like the graphics on the docks, though I do turn
off the zooming.

You can get pretty damn good graphics on your launchbars by skinning
PowerPro, but it's a lot of work.
