objectClassCategory set to 0 instead of 1,2 or 3?

My AD schema shows the following items having a objectClassCategory set to
0. Since objectClassCategory should be 1,2, or 3, I going to assume that
these classes are abstract, and the objectClassCategory should have been set
to 2.

Is my assumption correct?

Your assumption is incorrect.

Those are of the legacy type - Class 88 or 88-class.

Class 88 is the category for any classes created prior to the 1993 standard of
X.500. The 88 stands for the year that the previous standard was approved.
