Object Invalid No Longer Set/Complexity

Okay, I'm at the ropes now with my forms. Currently I have a form bound to a query, the information for this query resides at the top on the form and on the bottom I have a tab control. Each tab, for the most part, has information linked to other tables. One or two of the forms are connected via a query rather than a table.
When filtering all of this information by a unique identifier it works just fine in Access 2003. However in access 2000, when someone inputs new information or triggers an action query and they go to do a new filter the receive a message stating that the expression may be too complex and they get errors with "Object Invalid Or no longer set" Any solutions out there to solve this in access 2000?
