Anyone who has tried both, which one do you like the best and why?
I want to install one or the other but cannot figure out which one is best
from the web sites.
I have a pretty new computer, so my hardware can easily handle either one.

Opinions please?
Thanks,
Carolyn

I found Worldwind to be buggy and slow but ran on my Windows 98SE machine.
Sadly Google Earth currently will not run on Windows 98. I found Google
Earth to run a lot smoother on my XP box than Worldwind. It's also a
considerably smaller download. Of the two I would vote for Google Earth.

WW had closer pics(maps) than Google did, at least for my area, Rural
Saskatchewan. However Google worked smoother than WW. I'm going to wait
until one of the shows me Chrissy Cruiser sunbathing in her back yard then
I'll get that one(LOL)until then I dumped then both.

Depends on your use - to play with pretty pictures, bells & whistles get
Google - for more serious stuff get WW. I use both. I use WW to locate by
co-ordinates, then check Google for better pictures for my area (Africa)
Google does not run offline, so it is very limited, cache is easily
corrupted and it stores much less info. I have about three months worth of
cache for WW and I use it offline daily. I can also link to specific co-ords
from excel, which is cool for GIS and GPS work.

World Wind has more control and bells/whistles. If you are in US or
want to look at urban areas World Wind is better. It also has
different kind of satellite images. Google Earth has newer satellite
images and shows route numbers. I have both and use both.

WorldWind would not run on my computer (XP SP2) -- kept coming up with
"unresolvable errors".
I haven't tried Google Earth but my son says he likes it.

(I don't think your post is OT)

Thanks for all the feedback. Sorry I did not get back to this thread
sooner. Roadrunner was having some trouble with their newsgroup servers
here.
I have been looking over the forums and have seen some problems people are
having with installing the NASA program. There is some mention of "managed"
direct X, whatever that means, and an indication that an uninstall of World
Wind does not take out all essential files and may cause problems with
re-installing the program (on a update perhaps). I am assuming that I could
get any stray entries out with my reg cleaner.
Has anyone had any computer problems using these programs?
