Hi. Does anyone know if the current Nvidia driver 61.77 will be
compatible with SP2?
I am getting a big warning sign from Microsoft at setup that says it
STRONGLY urges me not to install this driver as it is unsigned. I think
all the previous updates for Nvidia were unsigned too, but that seemed
to be ok with SP 1. Nvidia doesn't have an Email tech support that I
can find on their website. Thanks. Dingo

Hi

I use version 61.76 - which are WHQL Certified - on the SP2 partition here.
No problems so far. I haven't tried version 61.77.

I am running 61.77 it is simply not digitally signed - which means they
didn't happen to pay MS for the WHQL rating - sometimes they do and
sometimes they don't.

Funny how things work out. I installed the Nvidia drivers from the Windows
Update site the other day and when I attempted to access the GeForce4 MX
420 tab in display properties, I got a nice popup that reported a
"catastrophic" failure nvcpl - this is with SP2 (same thing had happened
with SP1 and these Windows Update recommended drivers). So I rolled back
the driver and downloaded the 61.77 driver from the Nvidia site, ignored
the warning signs about unsigned drivers, installed and everything works
just fine with SP2. Kind of miss the popup though - never seen a
"catastrophic" failure message before. Which is a longwinded way of saying
the 61.77 driver works fine here on SP2
