Numerous Event id 4000s DC becomes unresponsive for logons etc.

We are running SBS 2000 (SP4). Recently, every 3 days or so, the server will
generate Event ID 4000 (stating that dns cannot load AD) every five minutes
and eventually become unresponsive - i.e. cannot login, access file shares,
exchange, until the system is rebooted, then everything is okay again for 3
days and events are generated, and reboot is required again...

I have done a fair bit of research on this issue, but to no avail... This
machine has a single nic, dns is listening on the only i.p. the machine has
and this is configured as the preferred dns on the dc. Also, dcdiag and
netdiag show no 'fails' All srv records seem to be present etc.

This server has been running without issue for over a year, and no changes
have been made to configuration.

Any help will be greatly appreciated...
