Numeric Order for Text Field

P

phoneguy

I have a field with entries like this: A1, A2, A11, B1, etc.
When I run a query and sort by this field, the records display in this
order: A1, A11, A2, B2. The text is alphabatized.

I would like the list to display like this: A1, A2, A11, etc. In alpha and
numeric order. Is this possible? Will I need to separate the data into two
separate fields to keep track of?

Thanks!

You'll need to either separate the data into a text field and a number
field, or else include leading zeros so that the number part always takes
the same number of digits (A01, A11, A02, B02). I'd go with the two fields.
