numeric field picture switch

I am using the following switch in a mail merge document (Word 2003):

{MERGEFIELD "Zip_Code" \# 00000-0000 }. But instead of the dash, there is a
space. How do I insert the dash?

{MERGEFIELD Zip_Code \# "00000'-'0000"}.

Thanks for your answer, it worked. Also, after much trial and error I used
Ctrl + Shift + - instead of just the typical dash key, and that also worked.
