Hello

I am merging data into a word doc but the merged numbers show many more
after the decimal point. I have formatted the cells to show only 1 or 2
numbers after the decimal. However, this does not prevent word adding them
back into the doc. Example 58.33 shows on excel but ends up as 58.333333 in
word.
Thanks

Formatting in Excel has no effect on what is displayed in Word. Formatting in
Excel does not change the contents of the cell, merely how it is displayed in
Excel.

One way of handling this issue is to do the formatting in Word.

In Word, in the HELP bar, type in "switches" and you will see a multitude of
formatting options that can be applied.

For example, if your value is contained in a merge field called Amt, then
appending the field code to the merge field in Word: \#,##0.00

might format it, in Word, as you wish.
