Hiya all
This will be a really simple question 2 all you Excel geniuses but being a
complete amateur I need help.

I have a spreadsheet and in the A column I need a list of numbers from
19,000 to 20,000, how can I do this without typing them manually?

Thanks

Hi Laura,

In A1, enter the number 19000
Press F5
in the Reference box, enter A1001
Hold down the Ctrl an Shift keys and press the Home key
release the keys
Edit>Fill>Series
Check that Columns and Linear are selected and that the Step value is 1
click OK

If you are trying to generate random numbers in that range, see Help for
RANDBETWEEN. Otherwise, you need to say were and how those numbers are
to be obtained.

hiya, thanks for your help, I have just tried that but it just goes down to
row A1001 and doesn't do anything after that.
I've tried it 3 times, so I dont think Ive done anything wrong.

Try this...

1) Type 19000 in the cell you need.
2) From the Drop Down Menu select Edit, Fill, Series
3) Change "Series In" to Columns
4) Enter 20000 in Stop Value box
5) Select OK button

Put 19000 in A1, put 190001 in A2, select both cells, move the mouse cursor
to the lower right corner of A2, click the mouse (left button) and hold,
drag down to A1000

replace A1 and A2 with the first 2 cells

having said that you must do something wrong since the other responses
should work
