Numbering Items in a Report

Guest

I am creating a report based on a query. I need each row of data to be
numbered. But I can not assign numbers to them, as the query will be used to
produce several reports all of which need to be numbered 1 to xxx.

Any Suggestions

Hi, Lynette.
I am creating a report based on a query. I need each row of data to be
numbered.

Once you've created the report, add a new text box in the Detail section.
Select this text box on the form while in Design View. Open the Properties
dialog window and select the "Data" tab. Type =1 in the Control Source
Property and change the Running Sum Property from No to Over All. Save and
open the report in Print Preview. Wherever the new text box is, each line
will have the item number displayed.
