Number of files in 1 folder

Hi

I was advised that one shouldn't store too many files in the same folder as
it will slow down the access of the file , can anyone suggest how many is
too much

Maybe 200 - 500? Usually you can break them into subfolders.

imo.... if the "file count" is completely up to you, keep as few as
possible. In general though, DOS used to have a 512 file limit in the root
directory (may still be true). Unlimited in subdirectories.... so, aim for a
512 max since DOS had no problems with that many, regardless of where they
were stored.
