number activation

do I need a hew number for every install or can I reuse the number for a
couple of system

For the public beta you can use the number up to 10 times.
 
Close, but not quite. You can activate the key on ten different machines.

If you have to reinstall and reactivate on one of those machines it does not
count a second time against your ten unless you have made serious hardware
changes. You could activate many more times than ten.
 
You also can get up to 2 install keys in the public beta (until they stop
releasing keys) allowing you to install it on up to 20 different machines.
