***Number "1" appears when finding "=networkdays(xx,xx)" of the same date

Hello peeps,

I was wondering why Excel gives me the number 1 when calculating Networkdays
of the same date.
(Eg. Networkdays between Shipdate of 07/02 and Dockdate 07/02 = 1?)
I have installed the Addin "Annalysis Toolpak" and have formated first two
column as Date values and the results column is a number.
I do not want to add a column with an "=if" statement. I want it to show up
as "0". Has anyone have an answer. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jose

Hi Jose!

Try again!

A1:
3-Jul-2004
B1:
3-Jul-2004
C1:
=NETWORKDAYS(A1,B1)
Returns 0

I am completely stump for some reason...

I typed in your dates (7/3 & 7/3) and they work, but when I type in any
other date it returns 1.

Anyone please try using 7/8 & 7/8 and it will return a 1????

please reply

thanks

Hi Jose!

Sorry Jose! My bad! My brain said it was Friday but the clock tells me
it's now Saturday.

When the days are both the same and are weekdays, NETWORKDAYS will
return 1. If both are the same and are weekend days (or holidays) it
will return 0.

I suppose you must regard it as a feature.

If it is crucial you could use:

=IF(A1=B1,0,networkdays(A1,B1))

Norman you the man.... I wasn't sure you could insert networkdays into the
IF statement.

thanks

have a safe and great 4th!

Hi Jose!

Pleased that you're on your way again.

We don't celebrate July 4 in Australia; we haven't yet been allowed to
declare our independence! Closest, I suppose is 1-Jan which is the
anniversary of Federation (1901).
