ntvdm.exe

I posted to this board a while ago. I had a problem w/
ntvdm.exe going ape-sh_t on my CPU while using remote
desktop. I have eliminated all possible spywear using
three different utilities, so that's out of the picture. I
have no other security risks/ holes that I'm aware of. It
seems to happen most when I use an FTP host between the
same two PC I use remote desktop on. Is this possibly the
cause of the ntvdm.exe problem? I leave the server up most
of the day while I'm at work so I can access items on it.
I use Remote Desktop to add/ remove files to the/ from the
source drive the FTP feeds off of. I was wondering if
maybe the combination of two seperate remote connections
(in essence) would have any affect that would cause the
problem.
May all be useless info, but I use XP Version 20002 Serv.
Pack 1 on a P3 (866Mhz), 512MB RAM with two hard drives
(both 7200 RPM.) The FTP Host is on the same drive as the
OS, but feeds off the other HD.

Additionally, I have now checked all runnig task in the
Task MAnager to verify there function and validity. All
are suposed to be running. Most are system tasks w/ the
exception of Anti-virus, firewall, etc. that are needed to
run properly. So nothing is running in the backround to
trigger this.
