NTUSER: ????

I was doing my weekly back-up and when I went to copy my "Documents
And Settings" folder from the C: drive, I got a message that the
folder cannot be copied because NTUSER: was being used by another
program. I have never seen this come up before, so I closed all other
programs, rebooted, checked to see nothing else was running and tried
again but got the same message. I have copied this folder before with
no problem. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

ntuser (or ntuser.dat) is a system file that's used and locked by XP itself
during your logged in session.

Have you changed settings so that this file is now visible? If so, check
your backup software for settings to deal with this, perhaps exclude it.

Exactly what do you mean by 'Logged In Session"? Online?

No, logged in to the PC as a user. If you are using the system, you are
logged in, regardless of whether or not you have a password.
