NTUSER.DAT and profiles

I was taught that to recreate a user profile, we do the
following:
1. Rename the existing profile
2. Have user login to setup the new profile shell
3. copy across pertinent profile folder
4. reestablish printers

Now, I'm told that all I have to do is copy the NTuser.dat
from the Administrator profile to the existing profile.
This is new to me. Does this work?

Best to use Control Panel|System|User Profiles|Copy To

Dave is right but you MUST remember to selec the permitted to use option to
allow the new user to have permissions on it otherwise it will fail... This
is a big gotchya.
