I have 15 files in Windows all called $NTuninstall, with various numbers
after that name. Can I delete these? I have no intention of uninstalling XP.
Thanks!

I would leave them alone. Never say never. They are not refering to XP
itself, but updates. They do not occupy much space. If you are trying to
free up space, post back with details about your computer like the hard
drive capacity and amount in use and what other drives, if any, you have on
your system.

These are available to uninstall updates. You can watch this list grow as
you install critical updates. After SP 2 was installed, about six weeks
later I deleted the older ones.

Those are there so you could *uninstall* the patches. Each is a folder
of files needed for the purpose - Windows\$NTUninstallQnnnnnn$ for the
fix described at http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;nnnnnn

If you decide you will not want to uninstall a fix (and if all is
running smoothly you probably won't) then delete the folder. If you
then try in Add/remove, to Remove that one, it will fail, and you will
be offered the option of removing the entry there
