just downloaded the latest security patch for Windows 2000.
REF: MS03-007 and as aresult lost all my files due to not
being able to boot up after restart.
I have know realised there are major problems with this
*!*~# patch.
Can someone tell me how I can download this patch safely
and if I download this patch with Service Pack 4 installed
will this happen again?
Oh I must say thank you Microsoft!!!!!!
 
Latest? This came out Mar2003! This is most likely included in SP4, couldn't
tell off the bat. Why did you lose data? You can always reinstall w/o
formatting and get back to your data if done correctly. I would add Sp4 and
then go to windows update and patch. Of course you stopped all unnecessary
programs and Anti virus before installing the patch??? There are millions of
machines running this patch.
