NTFS problems dont have xp disk

I recently brought my computer with windows xp sevice pack 2 already
installed. When i turn on my computer i get a message C: drive needs to be
checked for consistancy then disk checked canceled without me pressing
anything. Ive already been told to run a disk check from the xp disk but i
dont have it is there any other way i can run a disk check?

Call the manufacturer and ask if they have a CD that they can send to you or
else get them to fix the hard drive.

Go to : My Computer/right click the drive that needs checking [you say
it is C]/click "properties" on the dropdown menu/click the " Tools"
Tab/Under "Error Checking", click "Check Now"/check mark both boxes in the
next window/click "Yes" in the next window/shut down Windows and
re-start/let it run!
