NTFS deny permission on Everyone group

P

Paul Marsden

I have a customer who has added the deny write option for
the Everyone group on a folder on his server. This is a
data folder that he now needs access to but can only read
and not write even as administrator. Does anyone know of
a way that this deny setting can be removed. When you try
and access the permissions even logged in as
administrator you only get view permissions option.

Thanks for any help.

I can't think of any way that you will be able to do
this. A way around the problem could be to create a new
folder (with the correct access), copy the contents of
the original folder to the new one, delete the original
and rename the new one.

Can you take ownership of the folder as the administrator?
I think this will let you change the rights.
