David

On my xp client I'm trying to use nslookup and I recieve
the error.

Can't find server name for ip address 192.168.1.1 No
response from server
Default servers are not available
default server unknown
address: 192.168.1.1

But when I ping my servers name in DOS I get the address
192.168.1.1
I don't understand I went to microsofts site and they
said to create a reverse lookup zone which I did and
still I get the same error.

My real problem is I want xp to connect to my 2000 domain
but I keep getting the error network path not found. so
this is why I resorted to nslookup. ANy idea's on this
issue will help. THanks a mill,

David

Have you created the PTR record in your reverse look up zone? Eitherway,
what does your netdiag say?

Install the Windows 2000 Support tools (from the W2K CD), then run the
following

netdiag /v
