Thanks, Tim. I'll see if I can poke the source who attempted to get this
fixed the last time around, and tell him it is still broken. I wouldn't
hold your breath, though.

I am wondering do you think they are removing this because of the web forum
for mse?
It seems like microsoft is moving more towards web forums than newsgroups
They have one for windows 7 and mse and a bunch others now

The intention is certainly to move towards web forums.

However, the fact that the link between the web forums and this NNTP group
is not working is most likely simple human error--or perhaps "systems"
error--nobody knows how it works anymore--rather than an intentional
decision on anyone's part.

None. It has been a "direction" for a long time. Some products have no
support which is visible via NNTP.
