Nothing happens

Hello,
When I click on any icon on the desktop nothing happens. I can no longer
get on the internet and when I go in in my start menu under help & support
and click on it, again nothing happens. The system restore function was
recently used and this is when these problems started showing up.

Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like the .lnk file association is broken. Try MVP Doug Knox's
..lnk file association fix and see if it fixes things.

LNK (Shortcut) File Association Fix (Restores Default Shortcut Behavior)

Unzip the file and merge the containing linkfile_fix.reg to your
registry, right click on it and select Merge or simply double click on it.
