Group,
I used to like the old windows help files where you could set
bookmarks and even take notes of your own and record them.

These days, help is often in *.pdf format. I wondered if there is
some way to write notes in those help files. Something akin to
scibbling notes in the margin of a book.

I'm talking about something that would appear with the help file or at
least a link to some other file that would be linked to a specific
spot in the pdf. That is, not something like creating my own text
files on the subject and organizing them or the like.

Even if it means opening the pdf for editing would be ok if that is
not something that requires days and weeks of training.

I don't know a thing about how pdfs are written but maybe its possible
to insert links to my own notes or something along that line.

If you mean the Windows Help and Support Files, then there is a way to make
your notes and keep a record of all those entries.

Any iformation in the Help files can be copied [just highlight the section
or part thereof and right click 'copy'] and then pasted into a Word or
Wordpad document. Go ahead from there and make all the notes or editing you
need: when your done save them into your own Hints / Help folder.
