NOTES: Maximum size? - Outlook 2003`

Philip Freimann

I converted from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003. Some of my
large notes will not open in Outlook 2003.

The note is about 700 lines of text, roughly 80 characters
per line - or a maximum of 56,000 characters.

I can FORWARD the note to an email address, and open it in
Notepad. It has perhaps 10 times as much garbage. I can
strip it all out before the note, and after the note. I
can cut 'n' paste the remainder into a new note.
Can't open it in Outlook 2003.

or I can cut 'n' paste the remainder into a new note with
a different name and still can't open it in Outlook 2003.

Any ideas?

Are you using a new Unicode or older ansi pst? I discovered problems with
notes stored in Unicode psts and also with moving notes between unicode and
ansi stores.

I've noticed that since updating to OL 2003 with a Unicode PST that the
scroll bar on the right side of my notes is no longer available. I can
stretch the note to show it all, but if the note length exceeds the height
of my screen, I'm screwed is I want to add to the bottom of the note.

At work I'm running in non-unicode mode - the problem is
at home; I'll have to check, but assume it is the same.
