Notes Connector Performance

Hi All:

I've been messing around with the Notes Connector for a
while now.
So far everthing seems to work fine, but performance is
dismal: depending on the operation sometimes up to 2min
lag (!).
Are there any tuning features available? Or is this just
the way it is?

What operation is exactly slow? Also, it would be nice if you could include
the following details also...
1. Mailbox size
2. Machine configuration
3. Connection speed
