notepad saves to 3 1/2 floppy?

This may be a simple thing to those familiar with pc's. I used to just
save to the notepad as (insert name) and then open it from notepad. For
some reason it has started saving to a disc and sometimes asks for a
certain disc.
How can I get back to saving in notepad where I can just open a file
from there?

Open notepad..
Type something..
File --> Save As
Choose a location other than the Floppy Diskette (or choose the Floppy Disk
if tat is what you want.)
Close Notepad.
