Notepad File Association

I frequently need to read txt documents. Previously, in IE I would just click
on the files & the txt document would open up in Notepad (which is set as my
default txt editor in Windows). Now when I click on the link, the document
opens up in an IE web page.
It makes it near impossible to read the document b/c the formatting is
incorrect (no word wrap, etc). If I right click on the link, there is no
option to open the file using another app.
However, if I click on a txt file in Explorer, My Compouter, or the Desktop,
it opens uo normally in Notepad.

Can anyone tell me how to set up Notepad back as the default txt file
association in IE ?

IE v 6.0.2900....
Win XP Pro SP2 (I've been having this issue b4 installing SP2)
