not the typical flag follow up question

Outlook XP SP3, Exchange 5.5 SP?, Win 2k SP3

In the default inbox folder, my user flags a email for follow up with date
and time. when that time comes, no reminder pops up. This problem is
machine independant, it occurs for her email account every machine I tried it
on. Could this be a setting in Exchange? If so how could this have happened
when everyone is created from the same template?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to press the Reminder speaker button when setting up the time. It
will ask for a wave file to play for the reminder. Then it works.

Do any reminders work? Did you try the /cleanreminders and then the
/resetfolders switch?

Start menu, Run, type:
outlook.exe /cleanreminders
Ok
Repeat for /resetfolders if no reminders work.

Are you referring to Reminder Options? Both options were already set and a
sound was already declared.
Or are you referring to some option when setting the Follow Up? The only
options I have are Flag To:, Due By:, Time:, Clear Flag, and Completed.

Yeah, the Calendar reminders were working... just not the Flag reminders. I
tried what you suggested and it worked perfect. I did a search on the
commandline switches and came across
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;197180&sd=tech that
explains how those switches work (in case anyone reads this in the future).

thanks Diane.

Will this same process work for Office 2003? Does it clear all reminders and
re-set them?

it "fixes" the corrupt reminders...it doesn't clear all reminders...but,
yes, the switch works with Outlook 2003...

I am having similar issues with emails contained in folders other than
'Inbox". The reminders do not occur unless the email is in the "Inbox".

I have used the command line options listed below and the problem still
exists.

Any suggestions?
