Not sure this is new

Hey Papa, hello again. I have been using MM2 for about a
year now. This is the first time I have come across the
deadly save problem. I do not get a message, however i get
the dreaded counting up problem. Some background. I
successfully completed a movie exactly one month ago with
no problems. I also used the Pixilan software to add to my
slideshows. It turned out fabulous. It was about 1 minute
if video and about 125 pictures using various transtions
and video effects. Now comes the trouble. I created a
similar movie using the same techniques. When I go to save
the movie, I get the dreaded 'counting up'. I did regrag
the hard drive (which it needed). I checked all the
settings. I read your web site and did break up the movie.
I got it to save, but as a large video, it would not let
me save as DV AVI. In the last month, the only software I
added was AD-Ware. I do not know why I could make a
slideshow one month ago and save it fine, but now I have
to break it up? Sorry for the lenght, any suggestions?

I'd start by freeing up hard drive space, defrag (even again if you already
did one), turning off other running apps, and trying again. My experience is
that most of the time that works. Just a tune-up if and when needed.

And just trying again without a tune-up often works. Cancel the save if the
forecast number keeps growing and your CPU isn't working hard. Watch you CPU
activity - it's more telling than the forecast time. If the computer is
chugging away while rendering, let it keep going. If not, stop and try
again.

Papa, cleaned out the hard drive and have 70% free disk
space. I defragged twice. I am still getting the
counting up problem? Would it help to reload MM2? I
have about 50 gigs available to me. Thanks again in
advance. It seems funny that it worked great 1 month ago
and now I am having trouble.

Papa, I was testing out the project - I went ahead and
deleted all the Video transitions out of my project and
just kept thee original MM transitions. I saves
beautifully. So does this mean that my project is
classified as a 'Complex' project and therefore I will
need to break it up in the future if I want to use the
pixilan software? The actual movie was 15 minutes long
with music (4 cuts) and about 110 gif pics using both
pixilan and MM transtions on every pic.

Thanks
Jim
