Not Responding Issues

It seem that when I upgraded my CPU from a 2.8 Gig P4 to a 3.2 Gig P4 Model D1, 9 stepping,I seem
to get lots of applications that report not Responding, but this is just a theory that it happened
since I upgraded the CPU, some 2 years ago.

PC also has 1 gig of Ram, Gigabyte Intel 875P chipset MoBo.

Case Temperature seems ok, have some 4 Case fans and a 485W Enermax PSU, dual Fans.

Any clues to what I need to look at..?

Thanks.

An interesting problem... The 875P supports a processor up to 3.2Ghz,
so I don't see any issues there. You mention that since you upgraded,
two years ago, you had the problem. Is this something that just started
affecting your PC or has it been going on for two years?

I not sure if it did start after I upgraded the CPU, just that its now getting a pain, I was trying
to think back when these problems started..

Is it just any program that stops responding or a specific set of
programs? From what I know so far, if it were my machine I would backup
important data, reformat the drive and reinstall Windows XP. Windows
has a tendency to get hosed and can cause problems like you are
experiencing without having anything wrong with your hardware. If you
can handle reinstalling Windows and then everything works smoothly, I
would think it would be worth it.

The Problem seems to be Random programs.

XP has been reinstalled stack of times over the Years, I Do not format my Hard drive as I don't have
any thing to hold 120Gigs..

I just delete the Windows and Shared Folders only.
