Not in List

I would like the form to open a form in add mode, when the object the user is
entering is not in list. I remember seeing in one of the templates a warning
that came up similar to:

The item you are entering is not in the list, please select an item from the
list, or press ok to add a new ""

Does anyone know how this works?? I want the user to chose if they want to
add (for example a new supplier) and if the response is yes, I want the
database to open the supplier form in ADD mode.

Then when the user is finished to return to the original form and select the
new item in the drop down menu. Is this possible?

Hi,

There is some code at http://www.mvps.org/access/forms/frm0015.htm does most
of what you want. The difference is that, instead of opening the recordset
and updating it, you'd want to open your "add" form in Dialog mode and do
the addition from there.
