Are you trying to move a single message by dragging from the Inbox to a file
system folder on the share or are you trying to move your PST to the share?
If the latter, how are you attempting this? Is your PST an ANSI- or
Unicode-format PST? Keep in mind that PSTs on network shares are not
supported and could lead to PST corruption.

I also have this issue when dragging and dropping messages from within
Outlook 2003 SP1 / XP SP2 to a network resource these messages are from the
inbox, restarting the machine temporarily resolves the issue but it does
re-occur, if you use the save-as function it is not a problem but the client
requires to drag and drop (as it is much simpler), this is effecting numerous
clients at our site and have found no fix so far, would really appreciate any
assistance with this matter.

Thanks

As what you describe should work (in the absence of any network issues), I'm
afraid I have no suggestions.
