Not allowing my program access

Instead of using aim and msn messengers i use a program called Trillian. A
feature that trillian has is keeping log files of conversations i have
between friends, this feature is used all the time for me. But with UAC
turned on, trillian doesnt have access to create / edit the log file on my
hard drive. UAC never prompted me if i want to 'allow' access for it to do
this or anything, it just denied it. I turned off the UAC feature and now it
works fine. My problem is, that i want the UAC feature on, but i want it to
give access to my program, is there any way inwhich i can do this?

Thanks,
Michael

Some programs may not work well with the release. Me, I have found a love for
Microsoft Live Messenger. It allows me to use both my Windows live messenger
as well as connect to my Yahoo messenger. It also logs chats, and doesn't
have any issues with USC

Tell them to update the program to place the logs in the user directory and
not program files. I use Trillian too along with SIMP for privacy with some
people. Microsoft has decreed that "Program Files" belongs to them and may
not be used by programs to store user data. Good idea, but it will take a
long time before all the programs get fixed. I would not recommend that you
run Trillian with administrator rights.

Under preferences in Trillian, you can change the folder in which logs are
stored. Point to your user directory.
