NOT allowed to RELAY

Rebecca

Greetings.

After using Outlook Express for a while, I am now using
Outlook 2002 (XP) and MS Windows XP. I keep getting the
following error message from the "System Administrator"
when I try to send an e-mail:

550 5.1.2 You(ip:211.211.85.182) are NOT allowed to RELAY
(receiver:[email protected]).

I have searched in vain at the MS website for an answer,
but I'm at a loss. Could someone please give me some
assistance regarding this problem? Thanks.

You need to authenticate to send. In some cases, they need you to pop
before SMTP and you'll be authenticated for 10 min or so.. and immediate
retry works. if that doesn't work, go into your account settings and enable
the option to use a username and password to send mail.
