I have a Dell Inspiron and Mcafee came bundled along with it. After the
3 months expiration period, I uninstalled Mcafee security center. Since
then i am not able to browse the internet. My wireless works fine. It
shows full strength signals.

I have tried the following:
1. winsocksfixxp.exe
2. Restored the system to an earlier point

But still in vain. Please help me to acess the internet again.

I have a windows XP and IE 6.

Hey there,

When you say your wireless works fine does that mean you machine still pulls
an IP address from the router?
What I need you to do is this
Start>Run>type in command then press enter
A dos window will open
In that windows Type ipconfig /all
I need to know what your machine IP address is, your gateway, and you DNS
servers, copy and paste everything here if you can.
next try this and tell me what happens
In the same dos window type ping slam.ca
Does it timeout?
Next type ping 4.2.2.1
Do you get a reply?

Sounds like your lsp stack is messed up, but I'd like to make sure before we
do anything else.
