'Not a valid Office add-in' error message at startup'

J

Jeannie

When I start up Outlook, I get this error message.
'C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application
Data\Microsoft\AddIns\C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office10\SBCMSYNC.DLL' is not a valid Office add-in.

It does not help to go to Tools | Options | Other |
Advanced Options to remove it. I cannot find the file
using Add-In Manager and, if I select COM Add-Ins, I get
the same error message above. I also cannot locate the
file using search features. Find and repair did nothing
either. I am an intermediate user, and this has me
stymied.

Any assistance will be very much appreciated.

See Microsoft Knowledger Base Article - 235009: OL2002:
Error Message: <Path> is Not a Valid Office Add-In. In
the section "Small Business Customer Manager Not
Installed" you will find the steps to correct.

I do not have the 2000 files needed, nothing minor
corrects the message, so I guess I will have to back up
the registry and fix it. Thanks very much and wish me
luck.
