I have been lurking in this newsgroup for quite some time and it seems to me
there have been several posts wherein it was indicated that installing
Norton Systemworks created problems for Win2000.

I recently purchased Norton Systemworks, mainly because it was the most
inexpensive way to get Norton AntiVirus. Would it be a mistake to install
the entire package????

If the Cleansweep whatever it is called (where it tracks your installed software) is included, do not install that. I am prejudiced against Norton software but I think you'll find elsewhere that this application takes the cake when it comes to issues in Windows.

George,

I've been looking for something "lighter" to replace system-works with.

What would you use to replace functionality of the WinDoctor... everything
else, I think I've figured out (or can just scrap).

The Microsoft Knlowledge base. Sorry but that's the best I can come up with. These other applications make their way by FINDING things wrong on the system. Their may be but a little knowledge base can a go a long way to solving most issues.

I don't know why it is my dyslexia just increases 100 fold when I type. Sorry about the convoluted explanation. Hope you get the drift.
