First, please don't shout. Using all upper case is harder to read than upper
and lower case mixed, and is considered rude in Usenet.

Now, with NPF enabled, can you see NO pages at all? By name or by ip address?
From your browser, or your computer as a whole?

From a command window:
1) Ping www.yahoo.com.
2) Ping 66.94.230.33.
Report success / exact text of error messages.

From your browser:
3) Browse www.yahoo.com.
4) Browse 66.94.230.33.
Report success / exact text of error messages.

Chuck

Firstly....Sorry.....I consider myself told!

New user as you may have gathered.
With NPF enabled I see NO pages at all........in the address bar nothing
appears unlike when I have NPF disabled.....I can type and view any web page
I guess the settings on the NPF are blocking all webpages...............

In answer to the rest of your mail I am confused..........easy is'nt
it........

Your uk pal.......... Megjo

Hi Megjo,

Don't sweat it. Everybody here was a newbie once.

But see exactly what's being blocked. Test by ip address, and by name. Test
both pinging and browsing (web pages). And see just what error you get.

Open a command window (Start - Run - Type "cmd" and hit enter). Enter the
following, one line at a time, into the command window:
ping www.yahoo.com
ping 66.94.230.33
ping 127.0.0.1
Report success / exact text of error messages.

Next, from your browser (IE no doubt), enter, one at a time, into the URL
window:
www.yahoo.com
66.94.230.33
127.0.0.1
Report success / exact text of error messages.

I'm not sure why NPF would prevent anything from appearing in the address bar.
IMHO, this bears investigation.

Cheers,
Chuck

Remember un install of a Symantec product has to be done very carefully - follow
all instructions. S$ does not make removal of their products easy for you.

Of course, you might want to read the NPF manual and find out what browser
settings they recommend you changing.

Would be interesting to see if they are blocking the browser, or web addresses.

Remember NPF is to protect you (and I've yet to read about anybody getting their
money back from them). Un installing it, cause it blocks web pages, is like
removing the lock from your front door cause you hate carrying keys.

Cheers,
Chuck
