Norton Internet Security 2004

I used NIS 2003 a whole year without difficulty. In a month since installing
2004, I have had numerous "Internal Program Error" alerts requiring a
removal/reinstallation of NIS or, more easily done, a System Restore. Is NIS
simply "bad?" CGS

Did you prepare your computer before installing?
Follow these steps in symantecs article:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/4299340531653

20for%20Windows%
2098/Me/2000/XP&src=sg&pcode=nis&svy=&csm=no

It is important to follow all of the steps.

I am very happy with the improvements in NIS2004 and it
is working without problems.
Hope this helps

As an afterthought, Although the 2004 manual says you can
install without uninstalling 2003, I found it necessary to
uninstall NIS2003, LiveUpdate and LiveReg from add/remove
programs. When uninstalling 2003, I did not save my
settings either. I also did not install all the updates
from liveupdate (after the install), rather I selectively
updated a few at a time, starting with liveupdate followed
by NIS program updates, followed by NAV updates.
I also needed to reinstall NIS after a corrupt install,
thats how I know all this.
