norton anti virus auto update

has anyone had problems with norton anti virus auto update crashing their system
If so could you advise me what to do, Im running xp when i turn it of it do'snt seem to crash so often, but if i send report to microsoft they usally say it is a hardware, software,driver please help!!!!!!!

It might be advisable to contact Norton to see if they
have heard of this.

When NAV updates I usually avoid using the machine while it updates because
it causes my system to crash. NAV uses a lot of resources. Try letting it
update and not use the machine while it does so. Update only takes a minute
or two on a fast connection which to me is quick.Benefits of having NAV out
way the crash problem to me...
