Normally, we would use the following:
net use lpt2 \\servername\sharename /persistent:yes.
I would like to do the same but directly to the IP address.
this whole issue so that we can do remote printing to it via remot
desktop
or remote web access

Does your application require LPT2? Normally, you'd create a standard
TCP/IP port for this.
