normal for New documents

When I open a new document it has typing on it from an old document. I have
read the posting that was suggested to others, but no luck. I cleaned
normal.doc first with no luck and then I deleted it and still no help. Any
suggestions?

You appear to have more than one normal.dot and the one you have deleted is
not the active one. That one would be found in the folder indicated at tools

options > file locations > user templates (a hidden file by default).
