Normal.dot, Search doesn't find in XP, how come?

T

T. Duprex

In dealing with my most recent problem I had occasion to find and possibly
delete Normal.dot. When I did a Search for Normal.*, Normal.dot. XP didn't
find it. After doing some Googling I found that one could locate Normal.dot
at C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Microsoft
\Templates. Why doen't search pick this up in XP?

TIA

Check that you have Search set to include Hidden Files and Folders

In Windows XP, the folder in which Normal.dot is stored is a Hidden folder.
Unless you have hidden files and folders displayed and specifically include
them in your search, Normal.dot will not be found.
